Get the ip / port of a server
« on: February 10, 2005, 04:10:48 PM »

Well, this guide show you how to get the ip and port of ur ragnarok online server.

- First, you have to lunch your client. Then you have to go to the login page :

- Then, you have to lunch WPE PRO. You can download it here

- When you are in WPE, click on "Target program" and select your ragnarok online client. (example : Sakexe.exe)

- When it's done, click on the "play" button of WPE.

- Return to your ragnarok online client and log in. (JUST LOG IN !! DO NOT SELECT A SERVER !!)

- Quit your ragnarok online client using ALT + F4.

- Return to WPE and click to the stop button. Now, you have the IP and the Port !!

You can use this method to find MobRO's ip
netstat -n
First, before connecting, go to command prompt, then type netstat -n like so

This is done so that you can eliminate the ips that are not associated with your RO server.
Next, log into you RO server and go up to the character select screen (This is done so that you are still connected to the login server and thus the port is easy to see, most cases it is 6900)

The RO server ip is boxed in red, in this case this is MobRO's ip
Local IP edited out for obvious reasons

For those wanting to access MobRO's grf file.
Go to command prompt
Go to your RO folder
Type attrib mdata.grf -s -h -r
Now you can access it and extract files that you need.
MobRO's clientinfo.xml is actually called mob98.xml

look for xclientinfo.xml in your ragnarok data folder then..  open it with notepad...

<clientinfo>

<desc>Ragnarok Client Information - Taiwan
Version</desc>

<servicetype>korea</servicetype>
<servertype>sakray</servertype>
<connection>
<display>???RO</display>   <------ server's name
<desc>Ragnarok Online</desc>
<address>xx.xx.xx</address> <---- server's IP
<port>6900</port>
<version>20</version>
<langtype>07</langtype>
<registrationweb></registrationweb>
<aid>
<admin>704558</admin>
</aid>
</connection>
<connection>
<display>sykesRO²</display>  <-- server's name
<desc>sykes RO</desc>
<address>127.0.0.1</address> < --- server's IP (local server)
<port>6900</port>
<version></version>
<langtype></langtype>
<aid>
</aid>
<registrationweb></registrationweb>
</connection>
<connection>

<display>???RO: High Rate</display>  <---- server's name
  <desc>Localhost</desc>
  <address>xxx.xx.xxxx.x.xx</address> <--- server's ip
  <port>6900</port>
  <langtype>0</langtype>

</connection>
<clientinfo>

================================================
if you dont have your sclientinfo in your data folder

use GRF extractor.. download  it from download section http://narusegawa9888.free.fr/Ragnarok%20Online/gf.zip

run GRFextractor and open your data.grf
then look for clientinfo...
if you cant see any clientinfo.xml
try to open another grf-files like sdata.grf and adata.grf and search for clientinfo.xml

extract only your clientinfo.xml then view it..  /no1

im sorry if my english is bad.. hope this will help  /heh

to know the master_version of the server, its the last value in the first packet. but its in hex and u need to change it to dec using a calculator. the version is located at the 3rd 2 digit number at the first line of the first packet. it looks like this usually "64 00 ##" the ## is the version of the server and its also in hex and u need to change it to dec.

OR look here instead for skore's guide =p

Connect to the server then go to the command prompt in windows xp/2000 and type netstat -n
No need to use that program, just launch the command prompt in windows xp/2000 and type netstat -n

A note for rawr
netstat -a provides dns name resolution so it might be confusing to figure out the ip-addres if the server is hosted on a reversed dns-name (eg. theplanet.com)

*cough* download section *cough*

when i opened the clientinfo on notepad, this is what i got
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="euc-kr" ?>

<no_free_server></no_free_server>

so i tried the grf but when i extract, nothing happens. well something pops up but i cant read what it says beacuse it goes away right after it pops up.

I think youre supposed to view clientinfo.xml / sclientinfo.xml through a browser. Otherwise those tabs wont open up.
